SAP Business One
SAP Business One suits Nigerian distributors, FMCG wholesalers and light manufacturers who want sales, purchasing, stock and the ledger in one system and value the SAP name with auditors and parent companies. There is no public naira price: licences, hosting and Nigerian localisation all come through a partner quote.

What it actually is
SAP Business One is an ERP for distributors, light manufacturers and multi-branch traders who want one system for sales, purchasing, stock and the ledger. Licences, hosting and localisation are all sold by partners, so the experience is only as good as the implementer.

Best for
- Distributors with batches, serials and landed costs
- Subsidiaries of groups that already run SAP
- Multi-branch traders who want one stock ledger
Not suitable for
- Service firms with no inventory
- Companies that want self-serve, month-to-month cloud
- Buyers who cannot evaluate partner quality
Local support
SAP has a Nigeria presence and Business One is sold by Nigerian partners; NetServeAfrica was an early SAP SME partner. Local partner depth matters more than the product choice.
Migration notes
Item master and opening stock are the risky parts. Clean SKUs before migration, count stock at cutover, and keep the old system for one closed month.

How is SAP Business One priced in Nigeria?
Through the partner. You choose user types (Professional for full finance and logistics users, Limited for narrower roles), on-premise perpetual licences with annual maintenance or a partner-hosted subscription, then add implementation. Ask for the quote in naira and in dollars, with the exchange-rate clause stated.
Why do Nigerian distributors pick it?
Landed costs (freight, clearing and duty added to stock value), batch and serial tracking, price lists by customer group, and approval procedures on purchasing. That combination is exactly where accounting apps like QuickBooks become spreadsheets.
What are the risks?
Partner dependence and customisation creep. Business One is easy to over-customise with user-defined fields and add-ons that make upgrades painful. Keep the first phase close to standard.
SAP Business One or Business Central?
Functionally close for a distributor. Business Central fits Microsoft-centric companies that want a cloud subscription; Business One fits SAP-aligned groups and businesses happy with on-premise or partner-hosted deployment. Choose the partner first.
